“For me, writing is about exploring current issues and documenting changes in our society as we push for equality. It's also a great way for me to personally evaluate my stance on such issues- and I hope that, in reading my work, other people will be inspired to consider their views, too.”

A New Type of Business?: Female focused firms founded by womxn, for womxn.
In seeking to fix this issue, the team at Estrid sought to work with the womxn who would one day be their customers, asking them every step of the way what they wanted. A company founded by womxn, solving a problem for womxn by truly listening to them and including them in the design process. Not rocket science, but actually a relatively new concept.
The Law on Upskirting: Where Are We Now?
Upskirting, or the act of taking photos or videos underneath a person’s clothing without their knowledge or consent, was made explicitly illegal in England and Wales through the Voyeurism (Offences) Act 2019. The struggle that campaigners, led by Gina Martin, a victim of upskirting herself, went through to make it a specific crime in its own right was widely publicised.
But what happened next? After the ink on the new law dried. After the TV crews left. After the campaigners shifted focus to fresh injustices.
Celebrating #WombStories.
I noticed an article by Glamour magazine talking about Bodyform’s new ad campaign, #wombstories. The video for the campaign, directed by the award-winning Nisha Ganatra, is an illustrated portrayal of the diversity of experience when it comes to having a womb. The article I read described it as both the most ‘refreshing’ and ‘relatable’ ad ever. I can only agree. Not only is this advert ground-breaking in the topics it covers (everything from getting your first period, to childbirth and eventually the menopause is depicted), it is also beautifully done.
